Comfort Kitchen is James Beard Nominated for Best New Restaurant!

We’re super proud of our team and getting to the finals together. It’s thanks to their daily work, to our collaborators and partners, our community and all the support from near and far that’s gotten us here… thank YOU and thank you to the James Beard Foundation — we’re honored to be nominated for best new restaurant.

So much work has lead up to this moment and we’re excited to keep going. The intentionality in our food menus, our beverage program, the history and beauty of our location. To celebrate the multitude and intersectionality of our story… what it means to be Black-, women-, and immigrant-owned. To be a BIPOC team that speaks 9+ languages under the same roof. To highlight spices and ingredients connected from Africa to Asia to the Americas. To be in a historic building and historic neighborhood that has also historically been disregarded and misrepresented. We’re proud to be here and in this moment.
