Comfort Kitchen at the James Beard Awards 2024
So proud of our Comfort Kitchen team for the incredible efforts representing our city and the Northeast at the 2024 James Beard Awards in the "Best New Restaurant” category. It was an emotional ride and although we didn’t bring home the win, there were many wins we took away:
Seeing Africa on the map
Immigrant food being celebrated
People choosing to present their speeches using their native language
Acknowledgement of the emotional and physical labor that partners, children, and families make to support each other’s careers & dreams
Matriarchs being acknowledged for their role as wisdom keepers
Seeing the CK team show up and show out, celebrate others, and be who we are. (It was great to dress up and we had an amazing trip!😁)
Honored to have been nominated by the James Beard Foundation entering our 2nd year! Huge congratulations to all the nominees and winners, and well deserved best new restaurant Dakar NOLA.
Shoutout and appreciation to the team that held it down for Tuesday’s dinner service at CK. Thank you to our our guests and community as a whole for the continued support.
